Laguna Beach

There's something about cute kids and a beach that make for excellent pictures. I love these.

Off to California!

This is one full minivan!
... and even more full after we picked up a hitch-hiker named Aunt Bonnie! A special thanks to Bonnie who became the van "vending maching" and DVD-fixer. It was so fun to have her along! In these crowded quarters, Brent and I did a lot of talking of Suburbans along the way.

Our Pretty Little Gymnast

Becca signed up for gymnastics this summer with her friend Mia. They love it, and they're getting pretty good, too!

Hike up Grove Creek Canyon

Owen is photogenic

Owen has been my best model to practice my new camera on, whether he's awake or asleep. He loves to smile for the camera (or cry for for the camera, but that's cute, too).

Cool cameras take cool pictures.

Brent & I got a new digital SLR camera for Mothers Day/Fathers Day (and our birthdays, too, I guess!) We're sure having fun learning how to use this thing. Here are some of our first shots. Above, Owen's hand while he naps on the couch. Below, one of my last tulips this spring.

Above, flowers in Brent's parents yard. Below, his dad's shed out back.

Above, Winter in May (in our front yard). Below, the stream in Grove Creek Canyon, Pleasant Grove.

A typical Owen story.

"Oh, no! She found me. What's she going to do?"

"I knew this was naughty, but I thought if I was really quiet about it I might get away with it. Shoot."

Mom surveys the damage and tries to decide whether to cry or laugh.

"Come on, Mom, I'm a sweet boy. And this wasn't as bad as the flour bucket I dumped all over the kitchen, played in, and tracked all over the house last week. It's only ONE tube of toothpaste and I had the good sense enough to do it in the tub instead of on your bed!"

Mom bursts into laughter, gets her camera, and then makes Owen help her clean it all up!

Grandma's Easter Egg Hunt!

Grandma brought her Easter Egg Hunt to our house this year. It wasn't warm, but the kids didn't care. We are having one sugar-filled weekend, that's for sure!
